Job Description: Full-Time Fiber Splicer
Requirements:
- Must be willing to travel (MN, SD, ND, IA, WI) paid lodging per diem
- A good driving record
- Must be able to meet physical demands
Responsibilities:
- Read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
- Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR, and the aptitude to operate fusion splicing equipment for single and ribbon fiber, and understand the functioning thereof
- Completion of low level and high-level labor-intensive tasks as well as operation of assigned construction equipment
- Completion of daily production reports to document work performed
- Use of hand tools, ladders, and equipment to assist in the completion of an assigned project
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other plant and equipment
- Work safely, with or without supervision
- Additional duties as assigned
Physical Demands:
- Must be comfortable in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces – occasionally
- Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, etc.4-6 hours daily
- Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily
- Walking - 4 to 6 hours daily
- Pushing/Pulling - 4 to 6 hours daily
- Repetitive Motion (grasping, manipulation) - 6 to 8 hours daily
- Lifting (weights up to 100lbs.) – occasionally
- Lift & Carry (weights of 50 to 60 lbs.) - regularly / daily
